Menus is an important section under Appearance in wordpress, it is used to create navigation of pages and/or posts you created for website (also known as navigation bar, navigation menu or main menu, usually headers & footer).

Menus can be at different positions depending upon theme you selected, few themes have navigation at top, while some have at left sidebar, also some have at right sidebar or footer navigation etc.

Depends upon Theme it can be more than one navigation menu, Can have 2, 3 or more menus.
